The reconstruction of the ground plan of Zeelandia City is a significant subject regarding the history of both Taiwan and the Dutch VOC. In recent years, the discovery of the manuscript document Estate Registers of Zeelandia (1643) by Dutch historian Menno Leenstra has opened the door to an in-depth research of Zeelandia City, which contains information about the land registration of 395 building plots in the mid-1640s. This research reconstructs the ground plan of mid-1640s Zeelandia City through the Estate Registers of Zeelandia (1643), associated historical documents and images, cadastral maps, and traces of the past in present Anping. Targets of reconstruction include the possible forms, sizes and locations of the streets, blocks and building lots, as well as shoreline contours of Tayouan at that time. Finally, a complete ground plan of Zeelandia City and the distribution of different land 193 owners of the city shall be presented.
